I have previously tried and liked their populist beers. However, I just tried the first beer from Torch in the bottle. Among the three beers, I chose Kölsch because I wanted a light beer.
Kölsch beers are born in Cologne and, as the name suggests, are a beer unique to that region. Although it looks like a classic German lager, it is actually an ale. In fact, beer producers from Cologne swore to make ales instead of the popular lager beers in the rest of Germany in the 1600s, and they made it a tradition for new brewers.
In my opinion, it is a more delicious beer than classic German light-colored lagers. I had Kölsch a few times in Cologne, and as far as I remember, Torch has been able to capture that taste.
If you wonder why I put it in a rakı glass, Kölsch is usually consumed in a slightly larger glass, and as you finish the glass, they keep serving it to your table constantly. It's actually a clever method to keep the beer cool.
