3 Kafadar - English Gold - English Special Bitter (Ale/Turkey)

The English Gold from 3 Kafadar, which I recently had the opportunity to try, is a beer being labeled as an "English bitter" on its bottle, but it is more akin to an English Special Bitter, or ESB.
With a malt character, it is a crisp and smooth beer. It has just the right amount of bitterness, which is quite low.
It is a soft drinkable beer, with caramel and malt characters. It should be well received by those who enjoy beers of such characteristics.

3 Kafadar - Pentagram - Schwarzbier (Lager/Turkey)

A beer released by the famous Turkish metal band Pentagram, by three buddies. I just had the chance to taste it recently.
Pentagram is a Schwarzbier, meaning black beer. Unlike the typical Stout beers we are used to, Schwarzbier is primarily a lager, and also a less bitter and smoother type.
Pentagram has undeniably turned out to be a very good beer. It goes down smoothly.
However, unfortunately, these produced Pentagrams are the first and last ones in the market. I guess I'm lucky to have been able to have one.

Das Bira - Bagaj Degaj Bon Voyaj - Blonde Ale (Turkey)

I had the opportunity to taste Das' 3rd beer.
Bagaj Degaj Bon Voyaj is a blonde ale, but quite bitter, so I think it's more like a Pale Ale.
I can recommend it for those who like bitter beers like IPAs.

Efes - Belfast - Pale Lager (Turkey)

Efes's another new brand, Belfast.
A beer called Premium Irish Lager. I couldn't find another brand called Belfast. There is a Polish beer with the same name but I couldn't find any connection with this beer.
Belfast also gives a ordinary lager taste. It is difficult to compare it with other lagers in the market. I believe it was released to create brand diversity.

Efes - Everest - Light Lager (Turkey)

Another low-alcohol beer released by Efes after Bremen in 1827.
Contrary to its name, Everest is not at the summit but rather a beer with even lower alcohol content than Bremen's. Of course, due to tax regulations, its price is a bit more affordable.
However, these types of light lager beers are actually quite popular. If you look at America, you will see that the best-selling beers are light beers. Good for sales, but a step back for beer.

Efes - Pilsen Reserve - Amber Lager (Turkey)

One of Efes' beers released this year is Reserve.
Reserve is a beer that is darker in color compared to Efes Pilsen. It is given a caramel taste by using roasted malt. Tuborg Amber lovers can choose it.

Efes - Summer Brew - American Pale Ale (Turkey)

Efes' summer beer is called Summer Brew.
This year, Efes has made a change and released their summer beer as an ale. I think this decision has created a beautiful distinction. I believe the development of craft beers in Turkey played a role in this choice.
As an American Pale Ale, it should have a bit more hops. I believe it was designed to be adapted to the Turkish palate.
I would recommend this beer in terms of price and performance.

Knidos - Karbon - Stout (Ale/Turkey)

Knidos's beer, Carbon, is for now only available on tap. Carbon makes a great addition to the Knidos portfolio, which lacked dark beers.
Carbon is a quite smooth stout. As it should be, it's a beer you can comfortably knock back. It's a wonderful beer with tones of chocolate and coffee coming from the roasted malts. However, I would have appreciated it if it were a bit more full-bodied.

Selanikator is one of the highest alcohol content beers produced in Turkey. I had previously tasted and reviewed it from a barrel. Now, you can also taste it from bottles.

Torch - Honey Pepper Ale - Pale Ale (Turkey)

Torch has come out with a quite colorful beer for Turkey. A honey and peppery ale. I think the beer delivers what's expected. A sweet and slightly spicy beer. It reminds me of the "Pumpkin Ales" that come out in the fall in America. It's quite nice; I recommend giving it a try.

Perge - Bistro Lager - Pale Lager (Turkey)

I think there is a new producer in the market. The price of this beer, which you can find in Metro, is quite low.
It was one of the beers with low bitterness and the crunchiest biscuit-like taste I have ever had. Its body is not as light as other cheap beers I have had.

Knidos - Table Beer - Light Lager (Turkey)

Knidos has another new beer, the low-alcohol Table Beer.
I think Knidos had to follow the trend of low-alcohol beers due to alcohol taxes, but it's a nice beer. It reminded me a bit of Saison beers, refreshing, with good carbonation. Ideal for a hot summer day.

Knidos - Brewheart - Scottish Ale (Turkey)

Knidos' unique beer that you can only drink on tap, Brewheart. First of all, I liked the name. Referring to the Scottish Braveheart film, it is named Brewheart. Scottish Ales are known for their chestnut and brown hues, low bitterness, and sometimes the "peat" flavor found in whiskies.
Brewheart is one of the rare high-alcohol beers in Turkey and could also be the first example of a Scottish Ale. However, Brewheart is quite high in alcohol for a Scottish ale. The light flavors in the beer make us notice the high alcohol content. I recommend tasting it if you visit Bosphorus Brewing Company (@bbc_ist) or Sanayi1A (@sanayi1a).

3 Kafadar - Gastronom - Pilsener (Lager/Turkey)

The latest beer from 3 Kafadar is Gastronom. It's their second lager style beer following Okto. It turned out to be a nice, drinkable lager with a slight bitterness. However, this product is produced exclusively for Metro Grossmarket stores. If you want to taste a quality craft lager, I would recommend it.

Torch - Altbier (Ale/Turkey)

Torch seems to have introduced the first Altbier produced in Turkey to the market. Altbier means "Old Beer" in German and is especially brewed around Düsseldorf. The reason it's called old is because this beer is an Ale. It's made with a method and yeast that are considered older compared to other produced Lager beers.
As for its character, Altbier is dark in color, has low to medium bitterness, possesses a sweet malt character from the dark malts, and has caramel aromas.
I believe that Torch has done justice to Altbier with their production. If you haven’t tried it yet, I recommend you taste this style which you won’t find easily in Turkey.

Knidos - Firiki - Dunkelweizen (Ale/Turkey)

Dunkelweizen is a dark wheat beer of German style. Knidos used Firik as wheat for this beer. Firik is simply a product obtained by roasting wheat with the help of fire.
Knidos' beer is mildly sweet, full-bodied, and has a soft texture that gives very nice flavors from behind. I think it is the first Dunkelweizen produced in Turkey. I definitely recommend you to try it.

Efes - Bremen 1827 - Pale Lager (Turkey)

Efes has released a relatively cheap beer this summer. I think it's from the brands they previously sold in Russia and Kazakhstan. The reason for calling it 1827 is probably because that's the founding date of the city of Bremenhaven on the coast of Bremen.
This beer, like Tuborg advertised, is produced according to the "German Purity Law" or "Reinheitsgebot". However, this purity law doesn't really mean anything for the quality of the beer. It simply states that only water, barley, and hops will be used in the production. Yes, there is no yeast in the formula because people didn't know about its existence when the law was written in 1516.
The beer has a nice-looking box, but I can't say I enjoyed the taste very much. I didn't have high expectations from a beer produced to be cheaper in price.

Carlsberg - Luna - Pale Lager (Turkey)

Carlsberg, a beer that I like among the big brands. Luna, which was released this summer, is a unfiltered and "dry-hopped" beer, meaning that the hops are added after the beer ferments and before it is bottled. The label on the bottle is made green to symbolize the hops, but it gave me the impression of a lime-flavored beer.
This beer is also a nice, frothy beer like regular Carlsberg. I recommend pouring this beer into a glass so that you can catch the aroma of the hops. However, you won't find the taste of the hops very prominent. So, don't expect a taste similar to Pale Ales or IPAs. The hops have left a rather subtle impact on the flavor.
I think this beer is also influenced by the developing "craft beer" movement in Turkey in recent years. People may not want to drink the same beer throughout their lives, especially the younger generation.

Knidos - Tutti Brutti - Brut IPA (Ale/Turkey)

Knidos has released its first beer in the IPA category, Tutti Brutti. They've categorized it as a Dry IPA.
Dry IPAs are less bitter compared to regular IPAs, but they retain their aromas, and of course, due to their dryness, they leave a dry taste behind. Tutti Brutti is a nice addition to the Knidos series.
