Toppling Goliath Brewing - Pseudo Sue - Pale Ale (USA)

Toppling Goliath was founded in our neighboring state of Iowa in 2009 and is a brewery with over 200 beer varieties and numerous awards.
Pseudo Sue is defined as a Pale Ale, but compared to other Pale Ales, I think they are being very modest. What Pale Ale have I never tried before?
Pseudo Sue is a beer that lowers your expectations by calling itself a Pale Ale, but surprises you with its taste once you try it. Firstly, this beer is hazy, meaning it is unfiltered, resembling Hazy IPAs in that regard. Its taste is not very different from a Hazy IPA either. It beautifully presents citrus and mango flavors, while being modest in its boldness and having an amazing harmony with the beer's texture.
Once again, I highly recommend this beer for every beer lover.

New Belgium - Fat Tire - Pale Ale (USA)

New Belgium, founded in America in 1991, is one of the older beer producers, although not the first. The idea, which emerged during a bicycle tour to Belgium in 1988, is now among the largest companies in craft beer production in America.
Fat Tire is New Belgium's most well-known, oldest, and best-selling beer. It was released in 1991 and compared to other beers on the market at that time, it was actually an extraordinary beer. However, as the variety of craft beers increased over the years, New Belgium started to simplify the formula to maintain its market share. At the beginning of 2023, Fat Tire undergoes a complete change, both in terms of its logo and formula.
When I first tried Fat Tire, it had a true amber ale taste with an amber color and a malty character. This beer I had bears no resemblance to the old Fat Tire I used to drink. The brand was used to create a cheap and widely consumed beer, and the content has turned into a pale ale, just like any other popular beer.
Changing the formula is a method sometimes applied by some brewers to well-known brands. Of course, they disappoint their loyal fans, and the beer doesn't go back to its old days.
I would have liked to taste and compare the original Fat Tire, but it is currently not available on the market.
In its current state, it is again a standard ale, a beer that everyone will drink, but no one will fall in love with.

Lift Bridge Brewing - Farm Girl Golden Ale - Pale Ale (USA)

Lift Bridge is produced in Stillwater, a city on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin, and it gets its name from the lift bridge located on the river that forms the border. Farm Girl is Lift Bridge's best-selling beer.
Up until now, the beer has been produced as a session Ale (which is also how I knew it), but starting from 2021, it is being produced as a Golden Ale with orange peels. Its taste can remind you of a highly aromatic wheat beer.
It's a very nice beer; refreshing and makes you want to drink more as you go.

Epirus Brewery - Stala - Pale Ale (Greece)

From Yanya (Ioannina), a craft beer called Stala. The beer takes its name from the Epirus region, which includes Yanya.
First of all, I must mention that using a different brand's glass for a beer can be confusing and it also diminishes the enjoyment you get from the beer. Unfortunately, we see this in establishments that do not give proper importance to beer. Instead, I can say it would be more preferable if it was served in an empty water glass.
Setting aside my complaint about the mismatched glass, Stala is a good, standard Pale Ale. It delivers what is expected with its malty, light citrus flavors. I hope you get the chance to drink it in its own glass.

Torch - Honey Pepper Ale - Pale Ale (Turkey)

Torch has come out with a quite colorful beer for Turkey. A honey and peppery ale. I think the beer delivers what's expected. A sweet and slightly spicy beer. It reminds me of the "Pumpkin Ales" that come out in the fall in America. It's quite nice; I recommend giving it a try.

Noctua - Head Twister - Pale Ale (Greece)

Noctua, a Greek brand's second beer is Head Twister. As with the first beer, there was too much head on this one. From the character of the head, you can tell what to expect from the beer. The head is not rich in body, and the beer didn't deliver as expected. It has a bitterness similar to the first beer. I looked for Pale Ale flavors behind the bitterness, but I couldn't find much.

Toul's Brews - The Return - Pale Ale (Greece)

Another Greek craft beer producer, Toul’s Toul’s, offers this beer as a cold-hopped Pale Ale. Although the promotion mentions a variety of aromas and flavors, this beer was a straightforward Pale Ale with a mild bitterness. I haven't had the chance to try the brand's other products.

Maisel & Friends - Pale Ale (Germany)

One of Maisel & Friends' other beers in Turkey is Pale Ale. This Pale Ale is quite hoppy. Some beers can also be called IPA with this bitterness. Especially much more bitter than an English IPA.
I think it was a very nice beer. Although this beer is produced in Germany, those who want to taste an American "Pale Ale" can give it a try.

Antiochs - Pale Ale (Turkey)

I had forgotten to try this variety from Antioch. It caught my eye while I was searching for a light beer. I scanned my list but hadn't consumed it. It turned out to be a good thing, happening on a day like this.
A beer with a hint of lemon flavor, and slightly bitter. A good alternative to escape from ordinary Pilsners. It would probably be even better in the summer.

Bare Brewing - Kordaller - Pale Ale (Luxembourg)

An unfiltered Pale Ale from Bare Brewing. A bit more full-bodied than Lawn Mower, it's a nicely drinkable beer with a slight bitterness. I particularly liked the aroma. It's named this because it's made in the Kordall region.

Bare Brewing - Lawn Mower - Pale Ale (Luxembourg)

Lawn Mower is described as a light and refreshing beer. There's a note on the can suggesting it's good for quenching your thirst after mowing the lawn. It's a light beer, but with a strong hop presence. However, as soon as I opened the can, it overflowed with too much head, and I lost some of the beer. The beer in the previous can was also overly carbonated. It's an issue that needs to be addressed.

Feliz Kulpa - Asf’ale’ya - Pale Ale (Turkey)

Feliz Kulpa's 4th and final beer, Asf'ale. I had no idea what "asfalya" meant until I saw the name of this beer. I thought it might be the name of a historical city, but it's not related. Apparently, when people in Izmir get upset, they use the term "throwing asfalyas." Of course, Feliz Kulpa is an Izmir beer.
It was a beer with plenty of head. I always prefer beer with some foam over the ones without.
Overall, it was a good beer; slightly bitter, with a nice aroma, and a character of its own.

Trokya - 2 Köprü Tunca - Pale Ale (Turkey)

I liked this beer from Koprü. It's a classic pale ale. The consistency is very nice; despite the bitterness, it didn't bother me. The bitterness suits the character of the beer.

Trokya - 2 Köprü Meriç - Pale Ale (Turkey)

The 2köprü beer has a beautiful appearance with its old-style bottle and simple graphic design. However, the first thing that caught my eye on the back of the bottle was the mention of Pale (light-colored) Ale, followed by the phrase "dark beer". This beer is unfiltered and a very light dark yellow, but it cannot be called a dark beer.
As for the taste, frankly, it was a bit of a disappointment. It's a bitter beer, but not the hop bitterness. I couldn't pick up any aroma, although it had good fluidity. It reminds me of another beer I've had before, but I can't remember which one.

Fuller’s - Wild River - Pale Ale (England)

Once again a bold beer, Double hopped pale ale. This beer, which is double-hopped, has more bitterness than the Fuller's IPA I've tasted before, but it's not exciting enough to justify the "Double" in its name. Apart from a slight hop flavor, there is not much distinctive about this beer. Unfortunately, it also claims to be influenced by the American "craft" beer movement on the label, but this beer has no relation to any "craft" trend. It's watery, flat, and tasteless. Anyway, I'm used to being disappointed by English beers, so it wasn't much of a surprise.

Knidos - Route 333 - Pale Ale (Turkey)

It's a quality pale ale. It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, but I couldn't taste the hops much. The color, foam, and carbonation level are good.

Trokya - Dakka - Pale Ale (Turkey)

Trokya's first beer that I tried, Dakka, is a Pale Ale.
When it comes to Pale Ale, I don't have a clear taste in my mind because it's a very general category. Trokya used 5 different types of hops, citrus, and pineapple flavors in this beer. The hops added quite a bitterness to the beer. They could have also described it as an IPA, and it would have been a better beer than many IPAs on the market. I really liked it, it's a quality beer produced in Edirne.
