St Bernardus - Abt 12 - Quadrupel (Ale/Belgium)

St. Bernardus Abt 12 is considered one of the best beers in the world. This beer, produced according to its recipe from 1946, is an exemplary Belgian Quad. Like other Quadrupel beers, it has a high alcohol content and flavors derived from fruits and spices.
It is a magnificent beer that will soon be available on shelves in Turkey as well.

Trappistes Rochefort - 10 - Quadrupel (Ale/Belgium)

One of the most beautiful beers in the world. It is trying to tell you that it is a historical beer with its simple bottle, label design, and numbering system.
Brasserie de Rochefort is one of the monasteries that produce original 6 Trappist beers. They produce 3 types of beer, namely 6, 8, and 10. The monks have also started producing a fourth beer exclusively for the Belgian region in 2020.
This is one of the beers that you should try before you die.

Brouwerij Bosteels - Tripel Karmeliet - Tripel (Ale/Belgium)

Tripel Karmeliet, famous for its wooden-handled glass Kwak, is produced in Belgium by Brouwerij Bosteels. While I don't usually get the flavor I want from Tripels, Karmeliet is a very nice tripel with its spice and citrus aromas. It is available in Turkey, I recommend it.

Brouwerij van Steenberge - Belgian Dark Strong Ale (Belgium)

Gulden Draak is a strong Belgian ale. It's one of my favorite beers and the one featured in the profile picture of this account. It's a very nice beer with a great texture, sweetness, and flavors. If you come across it, definitely give it a try. Due to its alcohol content of over 10%, it's not possible to sell it as beer in Turkey; I think it falls into the wine category.

La Chouffe - Bok 6666 - Bock (Lager/Belgium)

Brasserie d'Achouffe is a brand that started production in the town of Achouffe, Belgium in 1982 and now exports beer to many countries, including Turkey. It is famous for its mascot, which is depicted on the red label found on its bottles. The picture you see is Chouffe's factory in Achouffe.
Bok is a dark and high-alcohol lager that the Germans call Bock. This particular beer from Chouffe was produced for the Dutch market, and surprisingly, it is not sold in Belgium, where it is made. It is a beer that is released at the end of September in the Netherlands.
I am not very familiar with the Bock style of beer as I have only had it once or twice before, but overall, it was a good beer in terms of taste, and I personally prefer it to be strong.

Brouwerij Corsendonk - Pater - Dubbel (Ale/Belgium)

Actually, it is a beer born in 1982 but in an authentic bottle. I detected a slight smokiness and coffee aroma. Besides these, classic Belgian dubbel sweetness and high alcohol content are also characteristics of this beer.

Trappistes Rochefort - 8 - Belgian Dark Strong Ale (Belgium)

One of Belgium's Trappist producers, Rochefort. Rochefort gives simple numbers to its beers with a simple label. 6, 8, and 10. Number 8 was started to be made for Christmas in 1955 and due to high demand, it became a regular product.
A dry fruit flavored, quite full-bodied, and sweet classic Belgian beer. I always recommend it.
The place where I drank the beer is the city of La Roche-en-Ardenne, which had several battles during World War II. It is 30km away from Rochefort where the beer is made.

Martin’s - IPA (Ale/Belgium)

Martin's IPA 44 is a Belgian IPA. The Belgian IPA is actually a category in its own right but it's a hybrid style. The beer is brewed with Belgian yeast which gives it its unique properties.
However, this beer is different from the new Belgian IPAs. It’s made by adding hops to Belgian beer. The Martin IPA has more of a sweet Belgian beer character than an IPA. The fact that its origin lies with an English brewer explains the lower bitterness.

Blanche de Namur - Witbier - Wheat (Ale/Belgium)

Another wheat beer from Belgium. However, its taste is different from other wheat beers. It has a strong lemon aroma and a dry finish. The alcohol content is slightly lower than average.
I really liked it. If you are looking for a light and unique taste, it is ideal.

Brouwerij Alken-Maes - Pilsen (Lager/Belgium)

Maes is the best-selling beer in Belgium after Jupiter and Stella Artois. It is said to have been first produced for the Antwerp fair in 1930. Despite its unassuming appearance and being a people's beer, I guess it's a good beer because Belgian touch is involved.
I would describe it as slightly sweet and crisp, a Belgian pilsner without the bitterness.

Westmalle - Dubbel (Ale/Belgium)

Westmalle is one of the eight monasteries that not only produces Trappist beer but is also among the founders of the 11 Trappist beer-producing monasteries in the world. Trappist beers are highly valued for their unique flavors, their antiquity and originality, as well as their secretive and mysterious production processes. Of course, most of these beers come from Belgium and its surroundings, so they generally have a high alcohol content with rich flavors. Traditionally, there are four types; Single, Dubbel, Tripel, and Quadrupel. I personally prefer the darker ones, Dubbel and Quadrupel.
This time, I've come across Westmalle's Dubbel. While it's not as high in alcohol as the Quadrupel, it's still stronger than a standard beer. These types of Belgian beers should not be drunk very cold, they are best enjoyed at temperatures of about 10-15°C (50-59°F). Indeed, if your beer is cold, you'll see that its taste begins to improve as it warms up a bit.
Additionally, most of these beers are carbonated in the bottle, so there is usually a bit of yeast sediment at the bottom. This sediment is nothing to worry about – it doesn't mean the beer is spoiled. If you find it somewhere, give it a try.

La Chouffe - Mc Chouffe - Belgian Dark Ale (Belgium)

Another Belgian beer that I could find recently is Mc Chouffe. @chouffe_belgium's dark-colored Belgian-style beer. Dubbel, Quadrupel, and other dark-colored Belgian beers are among my favorite beers. Due to my interest in dark Belgian beers and the influence of Chouffe Tripel IPA that I had previously, I had high expectations for Mc Chouffe. Perhaps because of my high expectations, I couldn't find what I expected from Mc Chouffe. Its taste was too caramelized, similar to low-quality Belgian beers like Leffe.
However, I must also add that whenever I buy a foreign beer that is not widely sold in Turkey, I always wonder whether the beer bottle was not properly preserved or if it is stale. Although the expiration date of this bottle is 30/6/2021, so it is possible that its taste has changed. However, even if I wanted to try it again, it is not easy to find a different dated bottle of this rarely imported foreign beer. That's why I put a question mark on the rating I gave to this beer.

La Chouffe - Houblon - Tripel IPA (Ale/Belgium)

I was able to find another rare Belgian beer in Turkey. The label is censored again because its brand is Chouffe. That's why I am attaching the original image.
"Houblon" is a Tripel IPA. Due to the influence of the IPA trend spreading from America, even conservative Belgian brewers have started to make hybrid beers.
Tripel is not a style of Belgian beer that I usually prefer, but it may also be because I haven't had Belgian beer for a long time; I really liked this beer. I think the combination of three different hops has enhanced the taste.
I recommend you to try it. I found it at Modalı Tekel.

Brouwerij Bosteels - Kwak - Belgian Pale Strong Ale (Belgium)

Kwak is one of the few good Belgian beers that you can currently find in Turkey. Its color, carbonation, sweetness, and alcohol content make it a typical high-alcohol Belgian beer.
Although the date on the bottle says 1791, the beer and its glass were introduced to the market in 1980. It is said that the unique glass shape was created by Pauwel Kwak, who was an innkeeper during Napoleon's time, to make it easier for the coachman to attach the glass to the carriage.
While it is not a Trappist like some other Belgian beers, it has gained fame especially with its glass.

Brouwerij Duvel - Duvel - Belgian Pale Strong Ale (Belgium)

Duvel is one of the most famous Belgian beers. It is a strong Pale Ale.
I occasionally have Duvel, but this famous Belgian beer has never appealed to me. Besides its high alcohol content, it lacks the characteristics I look for in a beer. Apologizing to Duvel enthusiasts, I would like to finish the text without further ado.

La Chouffe - Belgian Pale Strong Ale (Belgium)

Our censored beer, La Chouffe. They have covered the bottles with a red band in order to hide the cartoon characters in Turkey. Anyway.
It's a nice beer, but I guess I can't get the same enjoyment as I do from quadrupels and dubbels. I think the aroma is not sufficient for me. I feel the same way about tripels.

Brouwerij Alken-Maes - Grimbergen Blonde - Belgian Blonde Ale (Belgium)

An easy-drinking Belgian beer, this is Grimbergen's light-colored version, Blonde. It's not very bold, but among the hard-to-find Belgian beers in Turkey, it's quite drinkable. However, it didn't foam well; not sure if there's an issue with this bottle. I need to try it again.

Brouwerij Alken-Maes - Hapkin - Belgian Pale Strong Ale (Belgium)

A lesser-known Belgian beer I stumbled upon at Metro and, to my surprise, has a taste close to perfection. It's a dubbel, but it's a lighter shade. The aroma, the smoothness, and the carbonation are all really nice. If you're a fan of Belgian beers, I'd suggest grabbing some at Metro before they run out.

Chimay - Bleue - Quadrupel (Ale/Belgium)

A Trappist quadruple. Chimay's trademark dark beer. One of the fundamental beers for lovers of dark Belgian beers.
The formula for the beer, which is produced by monks inside the monastery in Belgium, is also kept secret within the monastery. The water used in the beer is also extracted from a well in the monastery.
It is a beer that has created and defined its own category, and we have nothing more to add. You can find it at Metro.

Hoegaarden - Hoegaarden Blanche - Wheat (Ale/Belgium)

Another classic wheat beer, Hoegaarden. It's a very nice beer for summer days. When you drink it, you can taste citrus and other herbal aromas. I also don't feel the heavy wheat taste that I get from some other beers. The Belgians know how to do this.
